What Happens in Every Tongits Round

In Tongits, the dealer receives 12 cards and each of the other two players gets 11. Your job is to build melds — three or more cards of the same rank (a set) or three or more consecutive same-suit cards (a run) — then reduce your unmelded hand to the lowest possible point total. Face cards and tens count as 10 points;

aces count as 1. On each turn, draw one card from the stock pile and discard one. If you can lay down all your remaining cards after a draw, call Tongits and win outright. When the stock runs dry first, everyone exposes their hand and lowest unmelded points wins — from Taguig to wherever you connect.

HOW WE RUN IT

How We Run Our Tongits Rooms

Every Tongits room on ph56com applies the same dealing and scoring ruleset across all tables. Our card distribution engine runs on a verified random number generator, and round logs are stored against your account for every hand you've played. We list RTP data only where the card-game provider publishes it — we do not invent figures. These standards apply to all Tongits sessions available on the platform, for eligible players where local law permits.

Verified Card Distribution Our Tongits rooms use a verified random number generator for every deal. Each hand is independently seeded, so no player at the table receives a stacked starting hand.
Full Round History Every Tongits session generates a timestamped hand log stored against your account. You can check each draw, discard and meld decision from any round you've completed on the platform.
Consistent Ruleset Everywhere Sapaw calls, meld validation and Tongits declarations follow the same fixed ruleset across every table — no variation between rooms, stakes or session type on this platform.
RTP Shown Where Published RTP data for our Tongits rooms appears only where the card-game provider publishes that figure. We do not invent percentages or display numbers the provider has not released.

Core Tongits Terms Defined

Tongits has its own set of terms that show up mid-round, and knowing what each one means keeps you from second-guessing a call. The definitions below cover the words you'll see most often — whether you're new to the game or just returning after a break.

What is a meld in Tongits?

A meld is a group of three or more cards you lay face-down on the table. It must be either a set (matching ranks) or a run (consecutive same-suit cards).

What does sapaw mean in Tongits?

Sapaw means adding one or more cards from your hand onto a meld already on the table — your own or another player's — to reduce your total unmelded hand points.

What is a set in Tongits?

A set is three or more cards sharing the same rank — for example, three Queens or four Sevens. Sets are valid melds and are placed face-down on the table.

What is a run in Tongits?

A run is three or more cards in consecutive order that all share the same suit — for example, the 4, 5 and 6 of spades played together as a single meld.

What does calling Tongits mean?

Calling Tongits means you draw a card and can immediately lay down your entire remaining hand to win the round outright, without waiting for the stock pile to run out.

What is a dead hand in Tongits?

A dead hand occurs when the stock pile runs out before anyone calls Tongits. All active players reveal their hands and the one with the fewest unmelded points wins.

Your Tongits Rules Questions Answered

These are the questions that come up most when you're learning Tongits or checking a rule mid-session. The answers follow the standard ruleset we apply across every table — no house variations or local tweaks. If you run into a scenario not covered here, the hand log in your account records the full sequence of plays so you or our support team can check exactly what happened.

The dealer receives 12 cards; the two other players each get 11. That extra card gives the dealer more material to meld from but also more unmelded points to clear before winning.

You win outright by calling Tongits — drawing a card and discarding your entire remaining hand in one move. Alternatively, if the stock runs out first, the lowest unmelded point total wins.

Number cards count as their face value. Jacks, Queens and Kings each count as 10 points. Aces count as 1. You aim to drop your total unmelded point count as low as possible.

Yes — that is sapaw. You place one or more matching cards onto an existing meld on the table, reducing your hand total without needing to build an entirely new meld yourself.

When no cards remain in the stock pile, every player still in the round exposes their hand. The one holding the fewest unmelded card points is declared the winner of that round.

Yes, Tongits uses a full 52-card deck with no jokers. All four suits are in play — suit matters when forming a run but is irrelevant when you're building a set.
